Trip to Northern Thailand
March 2001

This trip took us to the Mercy Ministries Foundation homes in Chiang Rai, Chiang Saen, and Chiang Kong. These are all in the far north of Thailand, close to the Mekong River, Myanmar, and Laos.
We took all the equipment to an Akha village in the nearby mountains, as well. Our patients there included older women in elaborate coin festooned headdresses, with teeth turned perfectly black from chewing beetle nut!
Matt repaired the diesel motor used to run the rice mill. He spent many hours grinding the valve seats back into shape by hand!
